Duke Realty Leases Butterfield 550 to Follett


Educational textbook and services provider will move into 551,200-square foot warehouse/distribution building in November

(Chicago, Ill. – June 3, 2011) Duke Realty Corporation’s (Duke Realty) Chicago office announces that Follett Higher Education Group (Follett), a division of Follett Corporation that operates college bookstores in the United States and Canada, has entered into a long-term lease of Butterfield 550, its 551,200-square foot warehouse/distribution building in Aurora, Ill. The building, which was delivered by Duke Realty in 2008, is located in Butterfield Corporate Park, a masterplanned development located between the Route 59 and Eola Road interchanges on I-88. Follett will relocate its River Grove, Ill. operations to Butterfield 550 in November 2011.

Interest in Butterfield Corporate Park has increased in recent months with Follett becoming the second major employer that has made a long-term commitment to the development. In 2010, U.S. Foodservice purchased nearly 50 acres of land for the future development of a 600,000-square foot regional distribution center.

Butterfield 550, which has been leased since delivery to a third-party logistics company is a cross-dock, precast concrete building with 30′ clear height, 74 docks, four drive-in doors, and parking for automobiles and trailers. The location of the Butterfield Corporate Park development offers proximity to major interstates, downtown Chicago as well as O’Hare International and Chicago Midway International Airports. The site also offers rail service through Canadian National Railroad providing businesses with another transportation alternative.
