Duke Realty Project Earns “Best in Atlanta” Award

When Carter’s Inc. partnered with Duke Realty on a 1 million-square-foot-distribution center in Park 85 Braselton, the timeline and scope of the project presented a challenge; finding solutions earned Duke Realty the Industrial Deal of the Year award in Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 2012 Best in Atlanta Real Estate Awards.

Because Carter’s needed to have parts of its new facility open in early 2013, all parts for the project had to be in place and moving swiftly to enable the company’s transition into one of the largest e-commerce/wholesale/retail apparel centers in the country. Negotiations happened over weeks instead of months, and Carter’s moved in on time, to a facility that includes new, energy-efficient lighting; skylights; brown water recycling; and an energy-efficient roof deck.

With its easy access to I-85, “the Braselton facility will allow Carter’s to efficiently and effectively provide merchandise nationally for the various sales locations and customers serviced by Carter’s,” said  Abe Schear, a partner in the real estate practice of Arnall Golden Gregory LLP and a key player in the deal.
