Rex Healthcare medical office building opens

Duke Realty-developed, 30,000-square-foot MOB in the Raleigh, N.C. suburb of Holly Springs offers express care, pediatrics, lab services, imaging and physician offices

HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C., and INDIANAPOLIS, Dec. 15, 2011 – The new two-story, 30,000-square-foot Rex Healthcare of Holly Springs at 781 Avent Ferry Rd. is now open and providing expanded health services to the fast-growing Raleigh, N.C. suburb.

The Holly Springs medical office building (MOB), developed and owned by Indianapolis-based Duke Realty, is 100 percent fully-leased by Rex Healthcare. It houses Rex Express Care (urgent care), Rex Pediatrics of Holly Springs, Rex Surgical Specialists, Rex Primary Care of Holly Springs, laboratory and imaging services, digital mammography and physician specialist offices.

“We are very pleased to offer quality health services in our newest facility, Rex Healthcare of Holly Springs,” says David Strong, President of Rex Healthcare. “We’re most excited about how the community in southern Wake County has embraced this effort. This rapidly growing part of Wake County needed health care services and Rex is pleased to serve the residents of this community.”

“We are proud to have partnered with Rex Healthcare to build this beautiful, functional facility that will provide muchneeded healthcare services to local residents,” says Deeni Taylor, Executive Vice President, Duke Realty. “Patients now have access to health services they didn’t have before and all conveniently located under one roof right in their community.”

The MOB occupies only a portion of the 16-acre site, which is on the corner of the State Highway 55 Bypass and Avent Ferry Road in Holly Springs. Rex Healthcare officials say the facility is the first step in the development of a healthcare campus that will include an adjacent 50-bed Rex Holly Springs Hospital and other future additions.

Chicago-based Jones Lang LaSalle, which also has a branch in Raleigh, served as a consultant and owner’s representative for Rex Healthcare. The architect for the MOB was BJAC, which has offices in Raleigh and Charlotte, N.C.

The general contractor was the Raleigh office of Brasfield & Gorrie.
